The Community School believes a child’s most important work is playing. Our warm and nurturing teachers create play and art opportunities to develop and strengthen social/emotional and pre-academic skills. We’ll meet your child where he/she is and help him/her grow and learn and become his/her best self.
The Community School is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. Our preschool program includes two, three, and four day programs for children aged two years nine months to five years old.
A Look Inside Our School
Words from Our Families
“The teachers are warm, imaginative and focus on learning through play-based teaching. The director and the board are easily reachable and always willing to do whatever is best for your child and family. It has been such a gift for my family to be a part of The Community School and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a preschool in Maynard.”
“We loved the sense of community the staff instills in their students. Whether they’re having a sing-along with local senior citizens, or taking a walking trip to the post office or library, the students are learning to become active members in their community. Our son has loved and been excited to go to school each day since the first day of school!”
“I feel so fortunate to have been steered towards The Community School by friends and neighbors. My daughter is excited to go to school and that enthusiasm has spread to other parts of her life. I have found the staff and teachers to be warm, supportive, and attentive to my child’s needs. She has been given the opportunity to become a part of the community through field trips and events and this has been a positive experience in her life as well as ours.”
“We have been 100% pleased with everything. The teachers are absolutely fabulous. We love the level of communication that happens on a daily basis and we love the age appropriate activities that are a part of each day. The fact that parents can choose the days that their children attend makes it easy for parents to match their schedules with their child’s. We also love how our child is going to school right in town with other students who live in our town. The school is very appropriately named because it truly feels like a community.”
