our program

The Community School believes a child’s most important work is playing. Our warm and nurturing teachers create play and art opportunities to develop and strengthen social/emotional and pre-academic skills. Outdoor play and exploration along with nature based learning opportunities are a strong component of our program. We’ll meet your child where he/she is and help him/her grow and learn and become his/her best self.

Our Preschool Program is open to children between the ages of 2 years 9 months and 5 years of age.

​

We are open 5 Days a Week from 9am to 12pm with an Extended Day Lunch Bunch Option from 12pm to 1pm. Two, Three, Four, and Five Day Options are available for Enrollment. Beginning September 2025, we will be offering an extended day option to 3pm and starting our mornings at 8:30am.

The Community School is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.

community connections

We are so fortunate to be located in the heart of downtown Maynard. We consider the town to be one of our classrooms and we plan weekly “Community Connections” to interact with the nature, local businesses, community helpers, and cultural district that surround our school.

registration

Enrollment for the 2025/2026 school year is now open.  Beginning September 2025, we will be open 5 days a week from 8:30am to 3pm.
